Digital Illustration I with Adobe Illustrator
This course introduces students to the wonderful world of graphic design and illustration with Adobe Illustrator, the world class, industry standard vector creation application. Vector illustration is different than pixel-based imaging, such as that used in digital cameras or Adobe Photoshop; it uses scalable graphics to create logos, designs, illustrations, etc. that can be designed and created in one format… and then scaled for use on many different sized items like business cards or products, or web sites or billboards, or even on the side of a battleship!
This class runs Thursdays for 10 weeks (from January 21 – March 24/31, 2016 – the class set for March 17 during Study Break may or may not take place, at the discretion of the class) and covers a mix of design theory and basic to intermediate level Illustrator tool use and essential functions. This is an introductory course; it is geared for those with little or no knowledge of the application and wish to know more, for professional or personal use. All tutorials and lectures are in-class, and it is geared for those who like their learning with lots of practical knowledge alongside a healthy dose of fun!
