Digital Publishing I with Adobe InDesign
This course introduces students to the wonderful world of page layout and publication design with Adobe InDesign, the world class, industry standard digital publishing application. InDesign is an application that can be used to create graphic designs through combining type, images and illustrations, for use in simple brochure to flyers, poster, product packaging, and so on, all the way up to commercial magazines, manuals and books.
This class runs 10 weeks (from January 20 – March 23/30, 2016 – the class set for March 16 during Study Break may or may not take place, at the discretion of the class) and was created to introduce learners to this wonderful world through elementary design theory, essential tool use and simple, practical exercises. This is a basic course only; students with little or no experience in page layout, or those who have used other applications like Microsoft Publisher or Quark Xpress and wish to transfer their skills to InDesign, are welcome. All tutorials and lectures are in-class, and it is geared for those who like their learning with lots of practical knowledge alongside a healthy dose of fun!
